Participating in the sleepout is a fun and impactful way of making a difference that supports women and children of Queensland towards a stable and safe home.
Agree within your organisation that you are going to support the Sleepout for Homelessness campaign for 2023. This is a team event focused around your workplace or school. Working as a team increases the impact, the amount of funds raised, and the fun of being involved in something meaningful with your colleagues.
Nominate a team captain who will set up the fund raising page and be the point of contact with the organising committee.
Once you are committed, set up a team site on our Grassrootz site. Please refer to our team resources page to download our step by step guide to setting up a team on grassrootz.
Once your team page is established (it takes about 10 minutes!) you can begin reaching out to your supporters to donate to your Grassrootz fund raising site. Each team will have a unique web address for their site that they can use to direct their supporters straight to their Grassrootz team page.
Once you have set up your team page, please send us an email using the form below so we can include you in updates and logistics matters as the date of the night of the sleepout comes closer.
Plan your campaign. Spread the word through your practice, colleagues, friends and family networks. Use the team resources available on this site to develop your message. Check back with status updates of the campaign and subscribe to receive weekly email updates.
Our sleepout event coincides with National Homelessness Week which you can use for cross promotion and ideas to enhance your message.
Reach your audience through direct email, work of mouth, and social media. Provide updates how the team is going and what their support if helping to fund. Thank supporters for their donations.

Angels are 1 off supporters
We understand that some practices are just to busy to commit to a campaign for this year. Its a great problem to have and we have a solution for you! Become an Angel supporter.
We have set up a special donation portal for angels where you can make a generous on off donation. Angels are recognised on our home page and will get special shout outs.
Individuals or companies can make one off Angel donations through the 2023 campaign Grassrootz site. You enjoy the same benefits of tax deductibility as other supporters and comes with the abundance of warm inner glow.
Angels can support in other ways
We are also interested in Angels who are able to sponsor specific aspects of the campaign. These are catering for the night of the sleepout, assisting with logistics costs, and sponsorship for the breakfast for participants on the morning after the sleepout.
Sponsor angels will get a special shout out on our website, social media, and branding on the night of the sleepout. If you or your company would like to sponsor part of the event, get in contact via the reach out form below.
